Raining Shit With A Chance of Sunshine

My name is Aihui (pronounced i-we). I was the Founder and CEO of EdgiLife.com, a A/B product testing platform for CPG brands. EdgiLife helps CPG companies get rapid insights from cutting-edge health and wellness consumers recruited from EdgiLife’s consumer snack subscription box called Love With Food. Love With Food is one of the nation’s largest snack subscription box companies. 

 

I ran my company for 6.5 years before it got acquired. I raised almost $5MM in venture funding and ran a profitable business prior to the sale. This was my first startup and I’m glad I dove in being really naive. I had no idea how hard the journey would have been. Many people asked me how I would describe the last 6.5 years. All I can say was “raining shit with a chance of sunshine”. 

 

I was thrown into the battlefield starting from Day One. I went from one crisis to another, non-stop. Many times I thought of giving up. However, it was reading books like Hard Things About Hard Things and the Shoe Dog (Nike story) that kept me going. Reading other entrepreneurs’ tough times kept me going because it made me feel less lonely.

 

My mission is to bring inspiring entrepreneurs together to share their tough times, to share their struggles because it’s real stories like these that keep us going through tough times, it’s real stories like these that inspire and prepare the next generation of entrepreneurs.
